Last week’s J. Press show was a triumph. If you haven’t seen the pictures, I encourage you to take a look. It was not only a reflection of the past and of all the things that J. Press has done so well over the years; but it was also a step into the future. As creative director, Dr. Carlson has done an excellent job digging into the history of “J. Squeeze” (as we used to call it) and staying true to all the things the brand stands for. He’s holding onto, and reinvesting into, the values and taste level that the Press family has always represented, and burnishing J. Press’ credentials as the authentic, original, the very best of “Ivy style.” The tweeds and tartans, the Fair Isles and fisherman sweaters, the donegals and moleskins, the corduroys and cashmeres, the field coats and flannels - alongside impeccable tailoring and a color assortment of Shaggy Dogs and Oxford cloth solid and striped shirts that brought a tear of joy to my eye - autumn is here, and this is J. Press at its finest!
